Completed Well 10/4-1

This exploration well was located to the south of the Stavanger Platform and 30 km to the east of the Egersund Sub-basin where the nearest proved mature Tau (Late Jurassic) shale is known. The main risk attached to the prospect is therefore likely to have been presence of a mature oil source rock and hydrocarbon migration from such into the trap. The primary reservoir objectives were the Sandnes and Bryn formations sandstones with the Permian, Rotliegend sandstone as a secondary objective. The prospect is a large horst block trending NW-SE. The Jurassic objective is at around 2,000 m, approximately 1.8 seconds.
