These wells were drilled on two, structurally related prospects Boomerang and Blink, in a location to the east of the recent Pil discovery and up against the main basin bounding fault. The reservoir objectives were sandstones within the Late Jurassic Rogn and Melke formations. The prospects are structural/stratigraphic traps with the sandstones present along the base of the Vingleia Fault scarp and requiring there to be a seal against that fault. Well 6406/12-4 S found hydrocarbons in Rogn and intra Melke sandstones. The other wells were water wet.
