This is an exploration well on the Kon-Tiki prospect to the northwest of the Gjøa Field. Kon-Tiki is a fault block structure, down-thrown against a NE-SW trending fault which defines the western flank of the Gjøa horst block. The Fensfjord and Krossfjord formation (Intra-Heather) sandstones were the main reservoir targets. The Etive and Ness formations were named as secondary targets. The well encountered the Fensfjord but it was water bearing and deep to the Gjøa OWC. The Krossfjord sands were absent. The Ness, Etive and Cook formations contained reservoir quality sands and were also water bearing.
