The 34/3-4 S well tested a shallow Pliocene submarine canyon-fill, which constituted a potential gas hazard overlying a Lower Jurassic prospect. Gas was encountered in Utsira Formation sandstones from 1,316 m, with only 3.2 m of gas sand over a 252 m interval. The 34/3-4 A sidetrack tested the Jordbær Sør-Øst prospect, with a Cook Sandstone objective in a NNE trending tilted fault block/terrace structure down-thrown from the Knarr Field. This well encountered good quality sands in the Cook (4,370–4,486 m) with a net/gross of 0.63, but only minor shows (hydrocarbon odour) and no significant saturation.
