Structural Setting and Petroleum Systems of the Dønna Terrace and Nordland Ridge
10 March 2017

The northern Haltenbanken area hosts the giant Heidrun Field and the Skarv, Norne, Urd, Skuld and Alve fields, with oil and gas/condensate in Middle and Lower Jurassic reservoirs and Snadd, Snadd Nord and Marulk with gas/condensate in Cretaceous Lange and Lysing Formation turbidite sandstones. Water depths range from 270–434 m. This review discusses the exploration history, the geological and structural setting and proven and prospective petroleum systems of this area, supported by a 3D PDF with regional mapping on the base Cretaceous, top Lower Cretaceous and top Cretaceous.
